Passé Composé
Past tense in French formed with the auxiliary 'avoir' or 'être'.
Common Verbs in Passé Composé
chercher, acheter, prendre, porter, laisser, nettoyer, mettre, écouter.
Example of Passé Composé Sequence
Ils ont cherché une carte d’anniversaire (They looked for a birthday card).
Negative in Passé Composé: Je n’ai pas mangé
I did not eat.
Affirmative in Passé Composé: Nous avons mangé
We ate.
Demonstrative Adjective: ce
Used for masculine singular nouns.
Demonstrative Adjective: cette
Used for feminine singular nouns.
Demonstrative Adjective: ces
Used for plural nouns.
Example: Cette hôtesse est généreuse
