How do fractures occur?
What physical force is exerted on the bone is stronger than the bone itself
Open/Compound Fracture
The Bone is exposed
Closed/Simple Fracture
The bone is broken but still inside the skin
Complete Fracture
The bone is in two pieces/ completely separated from each other
Incomplete Fracture
The bone id not completely separated, the bone is somewhat intact to some extent
Comminuted Fracture
The bone is split into more than 3 pieces
Avulsion Fracture
A piece of bone is broken off by a sudden, forceful contraction of a muscle
