What is Newton’s first law of motion?
An object at rest tends to stay at rest, and an object in motion tends to stay in motion at a constant speed in a straight line (constant velocity), unless acted upon by an unbalanced force
What is an example of an unbalanced force?
One that keeps objects in motion from staying in motion on Earth is friction, the force that resists relative motion between two bodies in contact
What is Newton’s first law of motion also known as?
Law of Inertia
What does the Law of inertia refer to?
The tendency of all matter to resist changes in it’s motion
