Administrative law
A body of law that defines the powers, limitations, and procedures of administrative agencies
Enabling laws
a statute that establishes an agency and sets forth the responsibilities and authority of that agency
Administrative Procedure Act
governing the procedures that agencies must follow when performing their functions
Democracy
a form of direct popular government → people vote on and directly decide all important issues
Federalism
interrelationship between federal and state governments and the division of power between those two levels
Tenth Amendment
powers not delegated to the US by the Constitution is reserved for the state governments
Necessary and Proper Clause
Congress can enact any laws necessary and proper to carry out their role and enumerated powers
Supremacy Clause
Constitution is supreme over other types of law
Commerce Clause
Congress has power to regulate interstate commerce, commerce with foreign nations, and commerce with Indian tribes
