Clavicle
Also called the collarbone; connects the sternum to the shoulder.
Scapula
The shoulder blade; connects the upper arm bone to the collarbone.
Sternum
The flat bone at the center of the chest that connects to the ribs.
Humerus
The upper arm bone between the shoulder and elbow.
Radius
The forearm bone on the thumb side.
Ulna
The forearm bone on the pinky side.
Carpals
The small wrist bones that connect the hand to the arm.
Metacarpals
The bones in the palm of the hand.
Phalanges (Hand)
The finger bones; each finger has 3, except the thumb, which has 2.
Vertebrae
The individual bones that make up the spine.
Cervical Vertebrae
The 7 bones in the neck region of the spine.
Thoracic Vertebrae
The 12 bones in the upper back that each connect to a rib.
Lumbar Vertebrae
The 5 bones in the lower back that support the most weight.
Sacrum
A triangular bone at the base of the spine; part of the pelvis.
Coccyx
Also called the tailbone; made of 3-5 fused vertebrae at the spine's end.
Pelvis
The hip bone; supports the spine and protects abdominal organs.
Ilium
The broad, upper part of the hip bone.
Ischium
The lower part of the pelvis that you sit on.
Pubis
The front part of the pelvic bone.
Femur
The thigh bone; the longest and strongest bone in the body.
Patella
Also called the kneecap; protects the knee joint.
Tibia
The shinbone; the larger and stronger of the two lower leg bones.
Fibula
The smaller bone of the lower leg; runs alongside the tibia.
Tarsals
The ankle bones.
Metatarsals
The long bones in the foot between the ankle and toes.
Phalanges (Foot)
The toe bones; each toe has 3, except the big toe, which has 2.
Calcaneus
The heel bone; the largest tarsal bone.
