Fibularis longus attatchments

Fibularis brevis

• distal 2/3 of lateral surface of the fibular

• tuberosity on the base of 5th metatarsal

Plantaris attachments

• lateral supracondylar ridge and adjacent popliteal surface of the femur

• posterior surface of the calcaneus via the calcaneal tendon

Gastrocnemius attachments

• posterior part of the medial and lateral femoral condyles

• knee joint capsule

• posterior surface of the calcaneus via the calcaneal tendon

soleus attachments

• soleal line of the tibia

• posterior surface of the head and proximal 1/3 of the fibula

popliteus attachments

• lateral femoral condyle

• lateral meniscus of the knee

Tibialis posterior attachments

• proximal ½ of the posterior surface of the tibia, below the soleal line
