Right Submandibular Salivary Gland

Major salivary gland - responsible for the production and secretion of saliva

Located beneath the jaw, walnut-shaped

The Right Lobe is biggest

Light Brown

Hepatic Artery

The artery that supplies oxygenated blood to the liver, gallbladder, and part of the stomach

Shredded, torn

Hepatic Vein

A blood vessel that carries deoxygenated blood away from the liver and towards the inferior vena cava

Just DEEP to and THINNER than artery

Falciform Ligament

A ligament that connects the liver to the anterior abdominal wall and diaphragm

Comes anterior surface of liver (flap)

Ligamentum Teres

Remnant of the obliterated umbilical vein that runs along the free edge of the falciform ligament in adults

ROUND LIGAMENT OF LIVER, hanging off

Gallbladder

Stores bile produced by the liver, releasing it into the small intestine to aid in the digestion of fats

Transverse Colon

Responsible for water absorption and storage of fecal matter

Runs HORIZONTALLY, underneath the liver, very dark color

Right Kidney

Responsible for filtering blood and producing urine

SMALL ball shaped (pink)

Right Ureter

A tube that carries urine from the right kidney to the bladder

BELOW and ATTACHED to the kidney, comes off the right kidney

Left Ovary

Produces hormones such as estrogen

LEFT of the UTERUS

Uterus

Houses and nourishes developing embryos and fetuses during pregnancy
