After the Jesuits introduced Catholicism/Christianity to the islanders some people were willing to be converted. However, some people were against this idea due to that they already had beliefs of their own which led to conflict

The Jesuits established “cultural education” by creating schools for the kids. Two individual schools one for girls called “Escuela de Ninas” and one for the boys called “Juan de Letran.”

Before San Vitroes died in 1672, he became a target for murder because he baptized someone’s infant daughter without any consent.

Although San Vitores died, Catholicism/Christianity continued to spread throughout the island because they were forced to. Every cultural and traditional aspect the Chamorros did had to stop.
How is the legacy of Catholicism/Christianity expressed in the present day?
In present times, it is expressed through the various churches that are located here in Guam. Today, Chamorro people are leading and preaching in these churches and we have a monument showcasing a priest baptizing the Chief's daughter.
How did San Vitores and the Spanish missionaries affect Guam in the present day?
When San Vitores and the Spanish missionaries came to Guam it affected our history and our present day in a way that nowadays we have numerous churches on the island. Many people today on our island are either Catholic / Christian which shows that if it wasn't for San Vitores and his missionaries we would've not had religion.
