Cephalic Phase

Gastric Phase
Stomach distends, more release of gastric juices
Intestinal Phase
absorption of nutrients through intestinal epithelium
Fats and Acids prevent the secretion of gastric juices
Microvilli
in the intestinal epithelium which are finger like projections made up of bundles of actin filaments
these increase intestinal surface area for absorption
