It is a company that has operations in multiple countries like Nike. NIgeria is a popular location for many of the worlds largest TNCs due to it’s manufacturing and services sectors and availability of cheap labour

Employment, shell has created quarter of a mill jobs in Nigeria.

They invest in infrastructure to boost economy, Shell gave Nigeria $1 billion to companies to help develop roads.

They contribute to development of local communities . Unilever has run projects to empower women and increase awareness of disease

Negatives of TNCs in Nigeria

TNCs like Shell have caused serious environmental damage in the Niger river due to oil spills, damaging wildlife+habitats.

They typically pay lower wages in NEEs than HICs. Profits are not seen in Nigeria but in the TNC instead.

TNCs may move somewhere else to reduce cost which makes job insecurity for workers.
