1. Tell instructor or a TA immediately

2. Don’t touch anything or try to move something that has been spilled on

3. If there is broken glass, don’t pick it up with your hands

4. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water

5. The TAs or instructor will cover the spill with paper towels soaked in disinfectant for at least 10 minutes

How do you label agar plates

On the bottom outside edges you put your initials, lab bench number, and section time

Why do we store agar plates inverted

To prevent water droplets from falling on our colonies
