differences in culture, location, and generation that hinder communication due to differences in slang, jargon, technical language, leading to a poor message quality

Organizational Barriers

unclear structures, rules, regulations, and systems within an organization, institution, or business

Physiological Barriers

barriers from one’s physiological limitations, sickness, or disabilities such as dyslexia, nerve disorders, deafness/hard of hearing, or speech problems

Cultural Barriers

barriers caused by differences in practices, beliefs, traditions, and norms

Psychological Barriers

barriers from one’s understanding of the message such as premature evaluation of information, inadequate attention, loss of interest, and biases
