Motor End Plates
Sites where a motor neuron's axon terminus synapses with multiple skeletal muscle fibers (junction between 2 muscles). These form multiple synapses despite the fact that each muscle cell receives a single synapse.
bundle of axons
Label (1)
single axon
Label (2)
Soma
Label B
Nucleus
Label H
Dendrites

Axon
Label
Nodes of ranvier
Label (blue arrows).
Gaps in the myelin sheath of the axons of peripheral neruons. Action potentials can 'jump' from node to node, thus increasing the speed of conduction (saltatory conduction).
Axon
Label 2 (pink area)
Schwann Cells
Part of the neuron that produces the myelin sheath; functions in repair and regeneration of damaged nerves; wrap around the axon; aid the myelin in insulation
Taste Buds
Labeling parts of the Taste Cell.
Special receptors for taste sensations that lie along the edge of the papillus. Contains specialized cells that contains transmembrane receptor proteins that bind to chemicals in food.
Taste Pore
Labeling parts of the Taste Cell.
Opening in the surface end of taste bud where cilia is extended into from receptor cells to contact tastants (substances that can be tasted).
Nuclei of taste cells
Labeling parts of the Taste Cell (C).
Entire nerve, around myelin of single axon, and bundle of axons
Connective Tissues wrap around... (visible in cross section of myelinated peripheral nerve)
