ocular Lense
The part of the microscope you look through - contains the ocular lens 10x

coarse adjustment knob
Moves the stage up and down

fine adjustment knob
A small wheel that sharpens the image or makes the slide more clear

arm
Used to support the microscope when carried.

rotating nosepiece
holds the scanning, low, and high-power objectives and can be rotated to change magnification.

high power objective
An objective lens- with a magnification of 40x (blue)

low power objective lens
An objective lens- with a magnification of 10x (yellow)

iris diaphragm lever
A wheel under the stage that regulates the amount of light on the slide

base
supports the microscope (on bottom)

stage
supports the slide being viewed (flat part where you put the slide)

stage clip
These metal pieces hold the slide in place

Body tube
Separates the eye-piece lens from the objective lens

Light Source
Projects light upwards through the diaphragm

Scanning Objective
A lens- with a magnification of 4x (red)
