What is politics?
The study of power or understanding how, why, and with what effects and actions are made binding on others (includes inaction)
Democracy
A system of government in which the power is vested in the people, who exercise that power directly or through elected representatives.
Citizen
A person (generally older than 18 years) formally recognised by other, having rights and duties - paying tax, voting, law abiding
Colonisation
The enforcement of political rule by new arrivals and the dispossession of the indigenous people(s) of significant resources
Political Power
The ability to make decisions and take actions in ways that are binding on others
Descriptive power
What is exercised based on evidence including observations
Prescriptive Power
What we would like to occur of how power should be exercised
Constitution
A set of rules that regulate the exercise of public power which are inclusive and transparent. Describes and establishes the major institutions of government, states their principal powers.
