Impetus
A motive force that is impressed in a projectile, determining its motion.
Antiperistasis
The theory suggesting that projectiles are moved by air rushing in to fill the vacuum left behind by the projectile.
Resisting Air
The air that opposes the motion of projectiles rather than aiding them.
Motive Force
The force that causes a projectile to move, which is distinct from the motion itself.
Natural Place
The designated position toward which a body is inclined to move under gravity.
Conative Quality
A quality impressed in a body, enabling it to move in a certain direction.
Succeeding Entities
The concept that movement involves successive interactions among multiple entities, rather than a single mover.
Gravity
The force that continually acts on a projectile, pulling it down toward its natural place.
Local Motion
The specific movement of a projectile through space, distinct from the impetus that drives it.

Experiential evidence or observations used to support or refute theories.
