Function of the female reproductive system
To produce egg cells and nurture the growing embryo during pregnancy.
Uterus
The organ in which the embryo develops during pregnancy.
Fallopian tube
The tube through which the egg travels from the ovary to the uterus.
Ovary
The female reproductive gland that produces egg cells.
Endometrium
The inner lining of the uterus that thickens during the menstrual cycle.
Cervix
The lower part of the uterus that opens into the vagina.
Vagina
The muscular tube leading from the external genitals to the cervix of the uterus.
Vulva
The external part of the female reproductive system.
