Population
The set of all the individuals of interest in a particular study.
Sample
It is a set of individual selected from a
population, usually intended to represent the

It is any value or measurement obtained from a sample.
Variables
A characteristic or condition that changes or has different values for different
individuals.
Metric Data

Enumeration Data
data obtained by counting.
Categorical Data
data which can be classified into groups or
categories of responses.

are data that are not organized, or if arranged, could only be from highest to lowest

Textual Method
This involves enumerating the
important characteristics, giving emphasis on significant figures and identifying important features of
the data.
Tabular Method
Sometimes, we could hardly grasp information from textual presentation of data.
frequency distribution table
is a table which shows the data arranged into different classes
and the number of cases which fall into each class.
simple frequency distribution table
consists only of class interval and frequency.
