农历-nong li (lunar new year)

做什么

Lighting and sending off lanterns to wish friends and family peace

(Children do this mostly, yet adults also can)

Lion and Dragon dances- ward off evil spirits and bring good fortune for the coming year

吃什么

月饼，水果和hairy crabs

yuebing- mooncakes

shuiguo- fruit

什么故事

Chang e loved hou yi’s bow and arrow shooting. One day, 10 suns come down, bringing great heat upon the people; hou yi shot 9 of them. Because of his achievement, he was given and elixir of immorality. A student of Hou yi tried stealing the elixir, so chang e took it and floated up to the moon (she became a moon goddess who now lives on the moon, immortal, with jade rabbit). Houyi was so sad that he started offering moon cakes and fruit to her, which has now turned into a tradition participated in today.
