Example of Policy of appeasement?

Munich Agreement (Germany) 30th of Sept 1938. Agreement signed by Hitler, Chamberlain, Mussolini and Daladier. Britain and France allowed Germany to annex areas in Czechoslovakia in exchange for peace. His reasoning was the had a population of 3 million ethnic Germans But Hitler in march 1939, invaded other parts. Same year started demanding territories in Poland, Germany invaded, policy abandoned.

Embargo on Iron, steel and copper. Froze Japan’s assets in US (prevent purchase of oil). Britain and Netherlands imposed oil embargos of their own. (lost 88% of impost of oil)

Allies had already defeated Germany in Europe. Japan vowed to fight bitter end (Pacific). Truman concerned of the continuous bombing of Japan would result in the US having to invade Japan with their troops, costing many lives. Therefore Truman approved the use of the atomic bombs for a quick end to the war.
