Henry the VIII & Elizabeth I

Ruled England, Windsor castle, made their own church using stolen land of the Catholic church.

King Philip II

Ruled Spain, El Escorial Palace (Madrid), He built a large powerful navy and started wars. He had tremendous wealth and he expelled Jews and Muslims. He seized Portugal.

Louis XIV (14th)

Ruled France, Versailles. Ruled for 72 years and he was nicknamed the sun king. Letat c’est moi (I am the state).

Peter the Great

Ruled Russia, Peterhof grand palace. Started a war with Sweden, and he wanted to westernize and make big cities to look like the west.
