Ordinary World - Beowulf is the greatest warrior in Geatland

Stage 2

Call to adventure - Beowulf hears the songs of Grendel's terrors

Stage 3

Refusal of the Call - Beowulf doesn't refuse his call

Stage 4

Meeting with the Mentor - Hrothgar

Stage 5

Crossing the First Threshold - Geatland -> Denmark

Stage 6

Tests, Allies, & Enemies - His test is Unferth, his ally is Hrothgar, and his enemy is Grendel

Stage 7

Approach - Thinking they have fully succeeded, they celebrate, but later they learn that there is a new enemy

Stage 8

Ordeal - Beowulf must defeat Grendel's mother to save the Danes

Stage 9

Reward - King Hrothgar gives Beowulf his finest treasures

Stage 10

The Road Back - Upon returning home, Beowulf ascends to the throne of Geatland

Stage 11

Resurrection of the Hero - The fire breathing dragon attacks Beowulf's kingdom

Stage 12

Return with the Elixir - Beowulf's body and a massive treasure are burned over a funeral pyre over looking the sea
