what is drag caused by?
turbulent flow
what is drag?
a resistive force that opposes the motion of an object or body through a fluid like water or air
how do you avoid drag as a swimmer and cyclist?
swimmer - technical racing suits increase speed by compressing your body into a more streamline shape (lzr)
cyclist - a fairing - which is a full or partial covering for a bike reducing aerodynamic drag (disks on the wheels)
could also have a equally sloped helmet with non straight back to allow air to flow off and stop the creation of a vortex and therefore turbulent flow
what is fluid friction?
friction that stops you from optimum performance
what is laminar flow?
a type of fluid flow where fluid particles move in smooth, parallel paths
