The setting in which the text was written or spoken.
Context
The circumstances and events surrounding the text.
Purpose
The author’s main goal in writing or speaking the text.
Rhetorical Triangle
The interdependent relationship between a text’s subject, speaker, and audience.

Speaker
The person or group who creates the text and how they appear.
Persona
The identity or ‘mask’ that the speaker portrays when writing or speaking the text.
