Molar volume formula
mass→volume
GFM→molar volume
Molar volume
The volume occupied by one mole of any gas at a certain temperature and pressure. The molar volume is the same for all gases at the same temperature and pressure.
Flow charts analysis
Feedstocks (can alternatives be used that are cheaper?)
Unreacted reactants (can they be separated and recycled within the flow chart?)
By-products (could they be used in a different process or sent to market?)
Energy inputs (could they be lowered?)
% yield
Write the balanced equation
Identify the reactant that’s in excess and the limiting reactant
Calculate the theoretical yield using limiting reactant
Calculate the yield (could be masses or moles)
yield= actual yield/theoretical yield*100
