• Beta women who follows the values of the world state

• Wants to be with John and hints at a desire for a more personal relationship but it ultimately disgusted by the idea of commitment due to conditioning

Mustapha Mond

• A powerful and world state controller

• Helped create the values and ideas of the world state

• Is one of the few people who have read the Bible and Shakespeare but keeps it away from the rest of the people

• values stability of individual freedom

Soma: A drug used to control people due to it suppressing peoples real emotions, highlights pleasure over individuality. symbolizes lack of free will

Hatcheries and conditioning centers: represents scientific and technological control over people

music: symbolism for control. It is used to suppress emotions and individuality and contains hidden messages that reinforce conformity and compliance to the World State's values.

Shakespeare: symbolism for individuality, art, human emotion and freedom.
