Leadership
The activity of influencing people by providing purpose, direction, and motivation to accomplish tasks and improve the organization.
Character
The moral and ethical qualities of the leader.
Presence
The characteristics open to display by the leader that are viewed by others.
Intellect
The mental and social abilities the leader applies while leading.
Leads
Providing purpose, direction, and motivation; builds trust; provides an example; communicates.
Develops
Inducing positive changes within individual members and the organization.
Achieves
Executes, adjusts, and gets results to accomplish tasks and performances on time and to standard.
Perseverance
Persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success
Respect
A high or special regard; the quality of state of being esteemed
Integrity
The quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness
Discipline
Training that corrects, molds, or perfects the mental faculties or moral character
Excellence
The quality of being outstanding or extremely good.
Stewardship
Carefully and consistently work to responsibly and thoughtfully manage what’s been entrusted to you.
Positive Reinforcement
Utilizing a reward system to increase desired behavior.
Punishment
Utilizing an outcome (positive or negative) to reduce a behavior.
Drum Major
Responsible for operational control of the Band.
Band Captain
Responsible for everything the Band does off (or while entering) the field.
First Lieutenants
Receive delegated duties from the Band Directors or Band Captain and oversee their completion.
Section Leaders/Auxiliary Captains
Report to First Lieutenants, Drum Majors, and the Band Captain and directly oversee their completion; responsible for keeping and reporting attendance.
Logistics Officer
Responsible for ensuring that all required equipment arrives at the performance or rehearsal venue.
Administrative Officer
Responsible for maintaining the tidiness of the music library, collecting and organizing forms.
Uniform Officer
Works closely with the Band Booster Uniform Committee members to ensure that all members of the Band have Band Uniforms and components that fit and are in working order.
Public Affairs Officer
Works with the Drum Majors, Band Captain, Band Directors, and members of the Band Boosters to maintain the Pride of the Park Social Media and print media.
