What are the stages of cell mediated response?

New cards
Explain the steps of cell mediated response?

1. APC release cytokines
2. Cytokines activate T helper cells
3. T helper cells complementary to antigen on APC
4. T helper cells divide mitosis and release more cytokines
5. These cytokines activate T killer cells
6. T killer cells release perforins to punch holes into cell surface and allow toxins to enter infected cells
7. T helper cells can differentiate into T memory cells- can turn into T killer cells if pathogen reenters
8. T regulator cells prevent T killer cells from killing unaffected host cells and shut down immune response once body is clear
