Tell me about yourself.
I am a medical and RANZCP graduate who enjoys helping people, music, playing music, sport, human biology and psychology.
How did you hear about this position?
I heard about this position by searching through a list of available positions that suit me in my area and I liked this job the most.
What motivates you in the field of…?
I would like to understand people and help them understand themselves better which is why I chose the field of psychiatry. I also wish to be able to help people who are less fortunate with me which psychiatry is perfect for because I will be talking with and helping people who are born with crippling conditions every day.
Why do you want to work at this company?
I would like to work at this company because I believe it is a prestigious company which would foster a safe and enjoyable work environment while also allowing me to reach my full potential as a psychiatrist.
Why do you want this job?
I would like this job because it will allow me to fulfill my desire in life to have a meaningful impact in others’ lives. Furthermore, this position appears to be very stable and is in a safe work environment which are both very important to me in my consideration for employment options.
Why should we hire you?
I should be hired because I have attended and completed medical school and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists which fits the required education and experience for this job. Furthermore, I finished medical school and RANZCP with exceptional grades which far exceeded the levels and abilities of my peers.
What can you bring to the company?
I can bring a good and stable person for this role who will care about his clients deeply and not just caring for money or status.
What are your three greatest strengths?
My three greatest strengths are my work ethic, my stability, and my drive to constantly improve myself and my craft so I can better myself and the people around me.
What do you consider to be a current weakness of yours, and therefore, what would be an area/skill you feel you would need to enhance further once beginning this role with us, and why?
A current weakness of mine is my inexperience as someone who cares and tends to human beings. I believe this because I have not had much experience as a therapist or psychiatrist in my life. I hope to very quickly resolve this issue by understanding and caring for the patients I will see to gain awareness of how to treat human beings.
How would people describe you – previous/current boss, co-workers, teachers, friends?
I believe that my teachers and classmates would describe me as an intelligent, thoughtful and generally quiet person.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
I see myself as a psychiatrist at this hospital learning how to become a better psychiatrist to the point I can move up in the company and become someone who trains new psychiatrists on how they should best do the job.
What type of work environment do you prefer?
I prefer a collaborative work environment where colleagues can work with each other on projects and issues to find a solution faster and more effectively. It also makes it a safer and more fun environment to work in.
What’s your work style?
I like to work mostly independently. This allows me to figure out the style I want to use with each client myself and without pressure by others to provide the most fluid interaction possible. Although I like colleagues to work with I would mostly like to be alone.
How do you stay organised?
I stay organised by using a work and day schedule so that I know everything I have to do and when I must do it which means I very rarely get overwhelmed or behind on work.
How do you prioritise your work, school, life balance?
First above everything else I prioritise myself and my health as if I have poor health then I will not be able to do anything else. Next, I prioritise school and work with the order depending on which one has more pressing issues at that time.
Why should be hire you above all other candidates?
I should be hired because I excelled at medical school and RANZCP and because I am not only knowledgeable in the textbook skills of a psychiatrist, but I have wisdom about who I am and how to deal with people that the rest of the candidates will not possess to the degree I have.
