men place more value on power and achievement and are more socially dominant. when groups form leadership tends to go to males. Women seeking power are viewed negatively as compared to men doing the same. Men tend to be more directive, women more democratic and welcoming of others input. Men smile and apologize less than women. Men interrupt and talk more assertively

Social Connectedness

We all have a need to belong, but men tend to be more independent. Play involves more competition and activity. women use social network sites more, texts 2x as much as males. Female phone calls 2x longer than males. Men 7x more likely to want to work with computers. Both men and women say friendships with woman are more intimate, enjoyable and nurturing. by age 50 these differences start to equalize.
