Cell Membrane
A thin, flexible barrier that surrounds a cell and controls the movement of substances in and out of the cell.
Nucleoplasm
The gel-like substance within the nucleus of a cell, where chromatin and nucleolus are found.
Mitochondria
Produces energy through the process of cell respiration
Vacuole
Stores water, food, and some wastes; stores sacs in the cell; also a type of vesicle
Chromatin
a complex of DNA and proteins that packs and organizes the genetic material inside the nucleus of a cell
Cell wall
a non living structure which surrounds, supports, and protects the plant cell ONLY
Nucleolus
Makes (synthesizes) ribosomes
Chloroplasts
Carry out the process of photosynthesis which is how plants make their own food and contain the pigment chlorophyll
Endoplasmic Reticulum
A network of channels that transports substances made in the cell
Ribosome
Makes (synthesizes) proteins
Cytoplasm
Fluid like material that fills the space between the nucleus and the cell membrane
Cytoskeleton
a network of proteins within the cytoplamina of eukaryotic cells
Lysosomes
Stores waste materials and helps digest food in one celled organisms; a type of vesicle
Golgi Body
They modify, sort, and package proteins
