Model
Eclectic, creative, simplified, miniaturized applications of concepts toward addressing problems. Used for macro-level planning of interventions.
Theory
Set of interrelated concepts, definitions, and propositions that present a systematic view of events or situations by specifying relations among variables in order to explain and predict the events or situations; refined through rigorous empirical testing.

Mastery Experiences (Enactive Attainment)
Successfully performing the behavior. This is the most powerful source of Self-Efficacy.
Vicarious Experiences (Modeling)
Observing others successfully perform the behavior to build Self-Efficacy.
Verbal Persuasion
Receiving encouragement and positive feedback from others to build Self-Efficacy.
Physiological and Affective States
Interpreting physical and emotional responses to a behavior to build Self-Efficacy. Positive states increase self-efficacy.
Theory of Reasoned Action
A psychological model that suggests that a person's behavior is directly influenced by their intention to perform the behavior.
Attitude toward the behavior
A person's positive or negative evaluation of performing the behavior according to The Theory of Reasoned Action.
Subjective norm
A person's perception of the social pressure to perform or not perform the behavior according to The Theory of Reasoned Action.
