What is the Human Condition for Islam?

Humans must submit themselves to the will of god for they will stray from the path of prescribed and prohibited actions god created without divine guidance. The path prevents moral error.

Where are we going in Islam?

For those who are faithful & obedient to gods will, there is Janna (Heaven). If people are disobedient towards gods will, they face a period in Jahannam (hell) for not repenting sins.

How do we get there in Islam?

We are saved when we submit to god. This could be achieved by acknowledging Tawhid, submitting to his will as revealed to Muhammad/prophets, living according to the Qur’an and Hadith, practicing the 5 pillars of islam, and believing in gods scriptures, angels, Jinn, and Akhira

The 5 pillars of Islam

Shahada, Salat, Zakat, Sawm, Hajj

The 6 pillars of belief (Iman)

Belief in Allah, Belief in angels, belief in Allah’s revealed books, belief in prophets and messengers, belief in the day of judgement, belief of divine decree (Qadar)

Salat

Prayer; pray 5 times daily facing mecca

Dawn (Fajr), Noon (Zuhr), Afternoon (Asr), Sunset (Maghrib), and Night (Isha)

Wudu

Ritual purification; involves washing hands, face, arms, and feet in specific order. this symbolizes physical and spiritual cleanliness

Zakat

Almsgiving; annual charity of giving away 2.5% of ones wealth. intended to purify wealth and foster compassion.

Sawm

Fasting; During the month ramadan (islamic lunar month 9). Dawn to dusk abstaining from food, drink, smoking, and sexual relationships. Emphasis on spirirtual reflection and increased worship

Hajj

Pilgrimage; muslims are expected to make a spiritual journey to Mecca if able. occurs on 12th month and pilgrims wear white garments symbolizing equality before god
