Powers of the President

Appoinment
selection by the authority vested with the power, of an individual who is to exercise the functions of a given office
Designation
means the imposition of additional duties, usually by law, on a person already in public service

general pardon to rebels for their treason and other high political offense
Diplomatic Powers
President is supposed to be the spokesman of the nation on external affairs
Budgetary Power
best posiiton to determine the needs of the government and propose the coresponding appropriations on the basis or expected sources of revenue
Foreign Relations Powers of the President
Power to negotiate treaties and international agreements, power to appoint ambassadors and other public ministers, power to receive ambassadors and other public ministers accredited to the Philippines, power to contract and guarantee foreign loans on behalf of the Republic, power to deport aliens, power to decide that a diplomatic officer who has become persona non grata be recalled, power to recognize governments and withdraw recognition
Informing Powers
discharges the informing power through the state of the nation address, which is delivered at the opening of the regular session of the legislature
Executive Power
Power of carrying out the laws into practical operation and enforcing their due observance
Natural-born citizen, registered voter, able to read and write, at least 40 years of age on the day of election, resident of the Philippines for at least 10 years
