  • Example: "Human are capable of great acts of kindness and great acts of cruelty." 

• Humanity (uncountable):

  As a noun, "humanity" refers to the human race or humankind, which is inherently uncountable. 

  • Example: "Crimes against humanity are a serious offense."

Art countable or uncountable?

• → “some art” = một vài dạng nghệ thuật (hiểu ngầm là some types/forms of art) → dùng được vì “art” không đếm được.

✨ Nếu muốn nói rõ là “một vài tác phẩm nghệ thuật” thì phải viết:

1. “Art” là không đếm được (uncountable)— khi nói vềnghệ thuật nói chung

🧠 → Trong nghĩa này, “art” không đếm được → không dùng “an art” hoặc “many arts” (sai nếu hiểu là “nhiều nghệ thuật” kiểu chung chung).

2. “A work of art” / “works of art” – đếm được!

The museum displays several famous works of art.

That painting is a beautiful work of art.

🧠 → Khi nói đến tác phẩm nghệ thuật cụ thể, ta không nói “an art”, mà dùng “a work of art” (một tác phẩm), “works of art” (nhiều tác phẩm).

3. “The arts” (số nhiều)– khi nói về các lĩnh vực nghệ thuật:

The government should invest more in the arts, including music, painting, and theater.

🧠 → “The arts” = các ngành nghệ thuật khác nhau (có “s” nhưng là danh từ tập hợp, không đếm từng cái).
