adolescents are no longer solely influenced by their parents and if an adolescent begins acting in a negative way e.g smoking due to peer influence parents can be frustrated which causes conflict

dating and the formation of romantic relationships can occur during adolescence leading to conflict as parents may feel their child is too young for a relationship or worry about teen pregnancy or sexually transmitted diseases
how can socially media cause conflict between adolescents and parents
as adolescents begin to use social media more often e.g snapchat, Instagram parents may worry their child is is not behaving in a safe way online or may become a target for predators online
how can conflict be dealt with
avoid angry confrontations and if they happen each party should take a timeout and return when calm
when communicating make sure both sides are able to voice their opinions
display empathy and understand each others point of view
what are the difficulties a family member with a disability may face
social isolation may be experienced with those with physical disabilities as it might be difficult to get out and meet new people
fewer employment opportunities may be available to those with disabilities due to lack of facilities or discrimination
children with an educational disabilities may have to travel long distances to go to school as local schools don’t have the resources to accommodate them
