إِذَا دُعِىَ ٱللَّهُ وَحۡدَهُ ۥ ڪَفَرۡتُمۡ

That is because, when Allah was called upon alone, you disbelieved

وَإِن يُشۡرَكۡ بِهِۦ تُؤۡمِنُواْۚ

but if others were associated with Him, you believed

فَٱلۡحُكۡمُ لِلَّهِ

So the judgement is with Allah

ٱلۡعَلِىِّ ٱلۡكَبِيرِ

the Most High, the Grand

مَن يُنِيبُ

who turns back (in repentance)

فَٱدۡعُواْ ٱللَّهَ

So invoke Allah

مُخۡلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ

sincere to Him in religion

وَلَوۡ كَرِهَ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرُونَ

although the disbelievers dislike it

رَفِيعُ ٱلدَّرَجَـٰتِ ذُو ٱلۡعَرۡشِ

(He is) the Exalted above [all] degrees, Owner of the Throne

يُلۡقِى ٱلرُّوحَ مِنۡ أَمۡرِهِۦ

He places the inspiration of His command

لِيُنذِرَ يَوۡمَ ٱلتَّلَاقِ

to warn of the Day of Meeting

يَوۡمَ هُم بَـٰرِزُونَۖ

The Day they come forth

لِّمَنِ ٱلۡمُلۡكُ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ

To whom belongs [all] sovereignty this Day

لِلَّهِ ٱلۡوَاحِدِ ٱلۡقَهَّارِ

To Allah, the One, the Prevailing

وَأَنذِرۡهُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡأَزِفَةِ

And warn them, [O Muhammad], of the Approaching Day

إِذِ ٱلۡقُلُوبُ لَدَى ٱلۡحَنَاجِرِ

when hearts are at the throats

كَـٰظِمِينَۚ

filled [with distress]

حَمِيمٍ وَلَا شَفِيعٍ

devoted friend nor intercessor

يُطَاعُ

Obeyed

يَعۡلَمُ خَآٮِٕنَةَ ٱلۡأَعۡيُنِ

He knows the stealthy glances

وَمَا تُخۡفِى ٱلصُّدُورُ

and what the breasts conceal

وَٱللَّهُ يَقۡضِى بِٱلۡحَقِّ

And Allah judges with truth

وَءَاثَارًا فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ

and in impression in the land

وَاقٍ

A protector

بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا وَسُلۡطَـٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ

with Our signs and a clear authority

وَٱسۡتَحۡيُواْ نِسَآءَهُمۡۚ

and keep their women alive
