Convection
The transfer of heat through a fluid (liquid or gas) by the movement of the fluid itself.
Conduction
The transfer of heat through a material without the movement of the material itself, typically through vibrating particles.
Radiation
The transfer of energy through space by electromagnetic waves, such as heat from the sun.
Efficiency
A measure of how much useful energy output is achieved compared to the total energy input; expressed as a percentage.
Energy Resources
Sources of energy used to produce power, which can be renewable (like solar and wind) or non-renewable (like fossil fuels and nuclear).
Work done
Energy transferred when a force is applied to move an object through a distance; calculated as ___ = force x distance.
Kinetic Energy
The energy an object possesses due to its motion, calculated as ___ = 1/2 mv² where m is mass and v is velocity.
Gravitational Potential Energy
The energy stored in an object as it is raised above the ground, calculated as ___ = mgh where m is mass, g is gravitational field strength, and h is height.
Power
The rate at which work is done or energy is transferred, calculated as ___ = work done/time taken.
Thermal Energy Transfer
The movement of heat energy from one object or area to another, occurring through conduction, convection, or radiation.
