Stages in the DTM
High Stationary Stage
Early Expanding Stage
Late Expanding Stage
Low Stationary Stage
Natural Decrease Stage
Why is the natural increase stable in the High Stationary Stage
Both birth rate and death rate are high because of human labour and poor medical care
Why does the natural increase rapidly increase in the Early Expanding Stage
Birth rate remains high while death rate is rapidly decreasing. This is because of the country expanding its resources and getting access to better healthcare, etc.
Why does the natural increase slowly increase in the Late Expanding Stage
Birth rate slowly decreases but is still higher than the death rate. This is because the country continues to develop but not at the same rate as the Early Expanding Stage
Why does the natural increase seem to stabilize in the Low Stationary Stage
The birth and death rate are both very low since the country is completely industrialized. Population lives very long
Why does the natural increase seem to slowly decrease in the Natural Decrease Stage
The birth rate falls below the death rate, more people die than are born
