Circle Time

Sunday

Monday

Tuesday
The third day of the week; clue: Taco Tuesday.
Wednesday
The fourth day of the week; clue: sounds like “wed-day,” as in a wedding ring.
Thursday
The fifth day of the week; clue: it is almost Friday.
Friday
The sixth day of the week; clue: starts with the letter F.
Saturday
The seventh day of the week; clue: weekend fun.
Days of the Week Song
A song that lists Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in order.
Letter S
The focus letter of the lesson; it makes the sound /s/ as in “ssss.”
S Sound
The /s/ sound made by the letter S, like a soft hiss.
Santa
A festive character whose name begins with S; found in the mystery box.
Shark
A sea animal beginning with S; appeared in the mystery box.
Shelby the Snail

Semi-circle
The shape of the day; it is half of a circle.
Number 2
The number of the day; represented by pairs such as 2 bees or 2 flowers.
Sunny
A type of weather when the sun is shining and skies are clear.
Open Shut Them
A children’s song with hand motions that go ‘open, shut them.’
Mystery Box
A teaching tool containing surprise objects that relate to the lesson’s theme.
Guess the Sound
A listening activity where students identify sounds like a doorbell, water pouring, a zipper, or a sneeze.
Color Tower
A stack of blocks in the colors pink, yellow, purple, light blue, and dark blue used for color recognition.
