Object Snap

Object Snap

allows you to snap onto a specific object location.

Object snap

provides a way to specify precise locations on objects

Object snap modes

Endpoint, midpoint, center, geometric center, node, quadrant, intersection, extension, insertion, perpendicular, tangent, nearest, apparent intersection, parellel

Endpoint

Snaps to the closest endpoint or corner of a geometric object.

Midpoint

Snaps to the midpoint of a geometric object

Center

snaps to the center of an arc, circle, ellipse, or elliptical arc

Geometric Center

snaps to the centroid of any closed polylines

Node

Snaps to a point object or dimension definition point

Quadrant

Snaps to a quadrant point of an arc, circle, ellipse, or elliptical arc

Intersection

snaps to the intersection of geometric objects

Extension

causes a temporary extension line or arc to be displayed when you pass the cursor over the endpoint of objects

Insertion

snaps to the insertion point of objects such as a text

Perpendicular

snaps to a point perpendicular to the selected object

Tangent

snaps to the tangent of an arc, circle, ellipse, or elliptical arc

Nearest

Snaps to the nearest point on an object

Apparent Intersection

snaps to an apparent intersection of two objects

Parallel

constrains a new line or polyline to be parallel to an existing linear object

Polar Tracking

Polar Tracking

Tracks the cursor along specified polar angles

Polar Angle Settings

you can set the increment angle ad well as add additional angles for tracking

Orthogonally

Restricted to horizontal and vertical tracking

All Polar Angles

the cursor tracks all polar alignment angles set

Absolute

the reference is from the horizontal which is the zero degree

Relative

The angle reference is on the last line segment drawn

Copy

you can create single or multiple copies of objects by selecting the objects and specifying the base point and point of displacement

Erase

deletes objects.

offset

creates concentric circles, parallel lines, and parallel curves

mirror

creates mirrored copy of selected objects

move

moves objects at specified distance in a specified direction

rotate

rotates object around a base point

extend

extends objects to meet the edges of other objects

trim

trims objects to meet the edges of other objects

Stretch

stretches objects crossed by a selection window or polygon

Scale

Enlarges or reduces selected objects, keeping the proportions of the object the same after scaling

chamfer

bevels or chamfers the edges of two objects.

is an angled line that meets the endpoints of two straight objects

Fillet

rounds the edges of two objects

Round/Fillet

is an arc that is created tangent between two objects

Rectangular Array

distributes copies of the selected object into any combination of rows and columns

Polar Array

evenly distributes copies of the objects in a circular pattern around a center point or axis rotation

Polar Array

Evenly distributes copies of the object in a circular pattern around a center point or axis of rotation

Rectangle

or rectangle command. Creates a rectangular polyline

Polygons

or pol command, creates an equilateral closed polyline by specifying the number sides of the polygon

inscribed in a circle, circumscribed about a circle or edge

Ellipse command

creates ellipse or an elliptical arc by defining the location and length of the two axes

Determine the location and length of the first axis

Third point of Ellipse

determines the distance between the center of the ellipse and the end point of the second axis
