Europe Flag
A flag symbolizing unity, solidarity, and harmony among the peoples of Europe, featuring a circle of gold stars and designed in 1955.
Schuman Plan
Proposed by French Foreign Minister Robert Schuman in 1950, it led to the creation of the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC).
European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC)
Established in 1951, it was the first step towards European integration by delegating control over coal and steel production to a higher authority.
Treaty of Rome
Signed in 1957, it established the European Economic Community (EEC) and aimed to create a common market among member states.
Maastricht Treaty

Common Market
A system aiming to eliminate tariffs and foster free movement of goods, services, capital, and labor among member states.
Eurozone

Lisbon Treaty

Brexit
The United Kingdom's withdrawal from the EU following a 2016 referendum, officially executed on January 31, 2020.
European Citizenship
Introduced by the Maastricht Treaty, it grants citizens of EU member states the right to live and work in any member state.

Pillar Structure of EU
