Open Systems
Systems that exchange matter, energy, or information with their environment.
Closed Systems
Systems that do not exchange matter or energy with the environment.
Homeostasis
The process by which a system maintains internal stability despite external changes.
Synergy
The interaction of two or more components to produce a combined effect greater than the sum of their separate effects.
Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs
A theory in psychology that prioritizes human needs, starting from physiological needs to self-actualization.
Environment (in nursing metaparadigm)
The external factors affecting a patient’s health and wellbeing.
Holistic Nursing

Health Promotion
