LCD and what it's used for
Least Common Denominator, used to find a common denominator for fractions.
Opposite Factors
Factors that are negatives of each other, such as (x-2) and (2-x).
Rational Expression
A fraction where both the numerator and the denominator are polynomials.
Combining Like Terms
The process of adding or subtracting terms in an expression that have the same variables raised to the same powers.
Factor Form
A representation of an expression as a product of its factors.
Multiplying by 1 in Rational Expressions
A method to keep the value of an expression the same while changing its form, often used when finding a common denominator.
Subtracting Rational Expressions
Involves finding a common denominator (LCD) before combining the fractions.
Example of LCD
For the expressions with denominators of (x-2) and (2x-3), the LCD is (2x-3)(x+1).
