Fractional Inequality
An inequality involving a fraction, typically expressed as a numerator divided by a denominator.
Sign Rule
A method used to determine the signs of expressions in inequalities, helping to identify solution intervals.
Numerator
The top part of a fraction which indicates how many parts are considered.
Denominator
The bottom part of a fraction that indicates how many equal parts the whole is divided into.
Continuous Line
A solid line drawn on a number line indicating that the values in that interval are included in the solution.
Dashed Line
A line drawn on a number line indicating that the values in that interval are not included in the solution.
Solution Set
The set of values that satisfy the inequality.
Product of Signs
The result of multiplying the signs of different factors, which helps to evaluate the overall sign of an expression.
Inequality Symbol
A symbol that shows the relationship between two expressions, indicating if one is greater than, less than, or equal to the other.
Interval Notation
A way to represent the set of solutions to an inequality using intervals.
Inequality with Negative Solutions
An inequality that results in a solution set where the values are less than a certain point.
Inequality with Positive Solutions
An inequality that results in a solution set where the values are greater than a certain point.
