Density
A measure of the mass of a substance per unit volume, typically expressed in grams per mL.
Concentration
The amount of solute dissolved in a given volume of solvent, often expressed as a percentage.
Calibration Curve
A graph that shows the relationship between the density of a solution and the concentration of solute, used to determine unknown concentrations.
Percent Sugar
The percentage of sugar content in a beverage, calculated using density and mass of sugar.
Analytical Balance
An instrument used to measure mass with high precision, often to the nearest milligram.
Volumetric Pipette
A laboratory instrument used to measure and transfer a precise volume of liquid.
Nutritional Label
A label that provides information about the nutritional content of food and beverages, including sugar content.
Mass of Empty Beaker
The weight of the beaker before any substance is added, measured in grams.
Linear Trendline
A straight line that best represents the data points on a graph, used to analyze the relationship between two variables.
Percent Error
A measure of how inaccurate a measurement is, expressed as a percentage of the accepted value.
