אִיתְּמַר

It was stated

הַבָּא

One who comes

לִסְמוֹךְ

To place close

בְּצַד

Near

הַמֶּצֶר

The boundary

אַבָּיֵי

Abaye

אָמַר

Says

סוֹמֵךְ

He may place close

וְרָבָא

And Rava

אֵינוֹ סוֹמֵךְ

He may not place close

בְּשָׂדֶה

In a field

הָעֲשׂוּיָה

That is designated

לְבוֹרוֹת

For digging pits

דִּבְרֵי

The words of

הַכֹּל

All (everyone)

כִּי פְּלִיגִי

When they disagree

שֶׁאֵינָהּ

That is not

עֲשׂוּיָה

Designated

רָבָא

Rava

דְּהָא

Since

אֵינָהּ

It is not

דְּאָמַר לֵיהּ

As he could say to him

כִּי הֵיכִי

דְּאַתְּ

אִימְּלַכְתְּ
