I am 27 years old

3

What is your place of residence?

I live at 1800 Osborne Lane in Ozark, Massachusetts

4
New cards

When did you first meet Mr. Wahl?

We met in my first year of college. I joined the campus’s Cheese Club and saw that he was the club president

5
New cards

What was the purpose of this club?

The purpose of this club was for cheese enthusiasts to hang out, try different varieties of cheese, often expensive, and to talk about our passion

6
New cards

What were your first impressions of Mr. Wahl?

I knew that he came from a wealthy family and I knew that he funded this club by himself. I was surprised as to how he could pay for this by himself if one pound cost $300

7
New cards

How was he able to financially support this club?

Although his parents were wealthy, he told me that he sold drugs on campus in order to afford the cheese

8
New cards

Have you ever met Mr. Wahl’s family?

I did. I met them over dinner. They seemed to be the perfect couple, rich and beautiful. But the night turned awkward as soon as they started to criticize Wahl about his lack of plans for the future

9
New cards

Did you stay in contact with Mr. Wahl throughout college?

I lost contact with Mr. Wahl after he dropped out of college. I later found out that Mr. Wahl wound up unemployed, moving from one drug rehabilitation center to another

10

What did you do with your life after college

Right after graduating college in 2017, I was arrested for defending myself against an undercover officer.

11
New cards

What exactly happened?

I thought I was selling drugs to a college student, not an officer. It took me as a surprise that he grabbed me and tried to bring me to the ground. At no time did he ever identify himself so I believed that I had the right to defend myself. This landed me in prison after my attorney advised me to take a plea bargain.

12
New cards

What did you do with your time while in prison?

During my time in prison, I decided to do what I did best. I cooked for 1,000 inmates a day. After a few months, the officers gave me more freedom to experiment with the prison cuisine.

13
New cards

What degree did you graduate with?

I graduated college with a business and culinary degree. Both of these skills helped me open my own restaurant, Badgerow’s, which has been named as the top restaurant in Martin’s Landing. I could never have done it without the support of my family and friends. While the profit margin is nothing compared to selling drugs, it’s rewarding to meet new people and create good experiences for them.

14
New cards

When did you next see Mr. Wahl?

I saw Mr. Wahl one day when he came into my restaurant. He told me that he just got out of rehab and that he was trying to turn his life around. I was interrupted by kitchen duties but when I came back I noticed that Wahl was speaking with a previous drug supplier of mine. I asked him about it once he returned to the bar but I didn't push after he said it was a friend he used to hang out with.

15
New cards

Is there anything about Mr. Wahl after he left rehab that stood out to you?

He looked like a mess. I offered him a job delivering takeout orders, hoping that it would give him stability, but he only lasted a week or two. I met him again in October of 2021 when he came to my house unannounced. He looked worse

16
New cards

How would you describe the account with Wahl in Fall 2022.

After some time I saw that his account increased to about $25,000

17
New cards

Why were you unable to meet with Mr. Wahl?

At about 9:15 PM, a refrigeration alarm for one of my coolers went off. I called Wahl to tell them that I would be late because of a work issue. I said I’d be an hour late but then I texted him saying I wouldn’t be able to make it at all

18
New cards

How long did it take to fix this problem?

I got home at 2 AM waiting for the repairman to finish up. I could not go until the problem was fixed. When I arrived home, I immediately went to sleep

19
New cards

How did you end up in police custody?

I was awoken by Detective Alleyne and was arrested by her. She told me that Wahl had accused me of kidnapping him and beating him up. He also accused me of dealing drugs, which is untrue

20
New cards

What did you observe from the scene?

We both noticed that the backdoor was open, the door jamb was broken, and $15,000 in cash was stolen from my desk. In addition to the cash, my prescription for Adderall was also missing.
