Wing
Monoplane
Full Cantilever monoplane
Semi- Cantilever monoplane
low wing monoplane
mid wing monoplane
high wing monoplane
Monoplane
is a more modern design of aircraft and it features just one set of wings
Full cantilever monoplane
the wing is unsupported externally
Semi - cantilever monoplane
the wing is supported either by struts or by wires
Low wing monoplane
the wing is placed at the bottom of the fuselage.
Mid - wing monoplane
the wing is placed halfway between the top and bottom of the fuselage.
High wing monoplane
the wing is at the top of the fuselage.
Biplane
it has two sets of wings stacked one above the other. It varies in:
a. Structures
b. Materials
c. Planform
d. Stagger
Planform
the shape or outline of an aircraft wing as projected upon a horizontal plane
Stagger
is the relative horizontal fore-aft positioning of stacked
wings in a biplane, triplane, or multiplane
Positive stagger
he leading edge of the upper wing is ahead of the
leading edge of the lower wing
Negative stagger
the leading edge of the upper wing is behind the
leading edge of the lower wing.
Angle of incidence
is the angle between the aircraft's
longitudinal axis and the chord of the wing
Decalage
is the angle difference between the upper and lower wings of a biplane.
Fuselage
1. Round
2. Oval
3. Square
4. Elliptical
5. Rectangular
6. Shallow or deep
7. Open cockpit or enclosed cabin, etc.
Conventional landing gear (tail wheel type)
is an aircraft undercarriage
consisting of two main wheels forward
of the center of gravity and a small
wheel or skid to support the tail
Tricycle landing gear (nose wheel type)
arrangement has a single nose wheel in the front, and two or more main wheels slightly aft of the center of gravity
IHP
indicated horse power
is the total power produced by the engine measured at
the crankshaft in horsepoweris the total power produced by the engine measured at
the crankshaft in horsepower
BHP
brake horse power
is the actual power
delivered to the final element of the drive.
