RED
Represents intense feelings, evokes ideas of action, and can accelerate the audience's heart rate and breathing. It's mostly used in action, thriller, horror, and suspense movies.
May also imply: rage, desire, excitement, energy, speed, heat, aggression, fire, blood, war, & strength.
PINK
The combination of red and white is mostly associated with the social construct of femininity, as well as soft and light feelings.
May also imply: healthy, happy, content, romance, softness & delicate.
YELLOW
It grabs and holds attention quickly. It's difficult for the eye to take in when there's too much of it in space. In fact, when in a yellow room, babies tend to cry more, and people lose their tempers more frequently. May also imply: knowledge, joy, optimism, idealism, imagination, hope, sunshine, summer, dishonesty, betrayal, jealousy, covetousness, deceit, illness, and hazard.

is a combination of red and yellow, and the emotional and mental responses it creates are very much a combination of the two. Usually, you can see this palette after wars, sunsets, or after the rising action of certain films.

GREEN
Generally symbolizes the environment and other soothing thoughts. But in films, it is associated with stronger emotions. May also imply: healing, soothing, perseverance, tenacity, self-awareness, environment, healthy, renewal, youth, vigour, spring, generosity, fertility, inexperience, & envy.
BLUE
It often represents a positive mood, and can even cause the body to produce calming chemicals. It also, popularly, represents masculinity - both consciously and subconsciously.
May also imply faith, spirituality, contentment, fulfillment, peace, tranquility, stability, harmony, unity, trust, truth, conservatism, security, cleanliness, sky, water, & technology.
VIOLET
Is seen as a rare and artificial color because it's not often seen in nature, and it's commonly understood and used as a feminine or romantic color.
May also imply: nobility, spirituality, ceremony, transformation, wisdom, enlightenment, arrogance, mourning, sensitive, intimacy, luxury and mourning.
BROWN
As you might expect, this color is commonly attributed to feelings that match qualities of the earth and one's home.
WHITE
The absence of color can also communicate a handful lot. It's mostly associated with the qualities of purity (hence wedding dresses), and medical professionals' uniforms.
May also imply: innocence, protection, love, reverence, cleanliness, precision, innocence, birth, winter, snow, sterility, marriage, cold, clinical, & sterility.
